At the time all the newspapers spoke about his fabolous weight loss.
In his book, “The diet of Karl Lagerfeld“, currently not available but published in 2005, the stylist describes in detail his diet, which in these days the magazine Cooking Light has reproposed exclusively.
Here, in short, a sample plan made by me as nutritionist, following the book’s instructions.

Karl Lagerfeld’s diet is divided into 3 phases.
- A low-calorie phase of about 800-900 calories per day.
- One 1000-1200 calorie phase.
- A 1600 calorie maintenance plan.
This diet is suitable for sedentary men over 50/60 years old or for women over 40 years old who are sedentary or of average height. (GO TO PAGE 2)
